Okay. Newbie for this ride. What IS a gear bag made of, look like, and what does a smart rider put in it? I'm clueless.

Can anyone tell me what the distance may be from the CNE to the Intercontinental Hotel on Front St. I was looking at parking at the CNE friday once I unload my bike and then walk to the hotel while leaving the vehicle there till I return on the train on Sunday, so I can load back up and head home to North Bay.
