The Ontario Ride to Conquer Cancer

OFlaherty · OFlaherty

Okay. Newbie for this ride. What IS a gear bag made of, look like, and what does a smart rider put in it? I'm clueless.

Can anyone tell me what the distance may be from the CNE to the Intercontinental Hotel on Front St. I was looking at parking at the CNE friday once I unload my bike and then walk to the hotel while leaving the vehicle there till I return on the train on Sunday, so I can load back up and head home to North Bay.

For the first time in THREE YEARS I am not positive that I will be able to make the minimum in time for Ride Day!!! I started everything late because of a car accident that I was sure would keep me from doing the ride this year... but the truth is that as much pain as I may be in, this i how I honour my father, I nee...

So some people are saying their jerseys are too large/too big. I just called and confirmed there would be a jersey swap on Saturday but she mentioned that they are all basically the same length (damn!) So my questions, having never actually worn a bike jersey, are: - How tight/loose are these jerseys s...

I have a Medium and would prefer a large. If any one is in West Toronto/Mississauga/Oakville I would love do a swap. Thanks Robb

I live in downtown Toronto and am wondering if I should bike over to the ex or drop off my bike+stuff the night before and TTC/walk over? If I bike over I'll have everything with me, but then I'd have to carry the potentially heavy gear bag over... On the flip side, I'd have everything with me and it wouldn'...

Hey all, As we get closer I figured we'd all be wanting to chat about what the forecast has in store. Despite the fact that we're still five days out and the forecast is almost guaranteed to change by then, we can still ponder! ....and I mean WAY behind! This is my third year and training has been so hard. I am not an expert rider...really only started riding to be able to take part in this event and it was so hard for me the first year...last year was easier for sure but still not a walk in the park. I know what it takes to be ready...

I currently have a back frame w/ basket on the side and wanted to take it off for the ride and replace it with a triangle frame bag from MEC The fit is actually pretty good, but what I am concerned about is the brake cords. They run along the bottom outside of the frame. In my mind, strapping over this would ca...

I have a VERY old bike lock and don't want to buy a new one for the ride mainly for weight (and somewhere to store it!) Will you need a lock for this ride? They say the bikes are stored in a secure area, so I am assuming we do not need one?

kmclachlan · kmclachlan

I just got my jersey in the mail today. I'm 6 feet tall and I'm PRETTY sure I picked Medium when speaking with my person over the phone, but I got a small. It is too short in the front and sorta looks/feels weird. Not sure how much larger a medium would be - and maybe it would be too "loose" everywhe...

I'm selling my 2008 Norco Tactik. It has Shimano components: brake levers, shifters, crankset, front and rear derailleur. The bike only has one summer (2008) on it and I've kept it in excellent condition ever since. Cables and housing are brand new. I'm selling it for $350. If interested, p...

I saw some people mention picking their schedule for the train ride back. I just completed the online check-in and the ONLY thing I got to pick was a tent-mate. Did I miss something?

Chase - congratulations on making the $2500 minimum. Anyone who's been following the forums knows what a challenge you've had. The dedication you've put into fulfilling the promise you made to you're brother is truly inspiring. I wish you all the best come ride day.
