sorry that'll be way too big for you.

Do you know what price you had in mind? I'd be cautious of buying a used entry level road bike. Most of the time they're ridden by inexperienced riders and the drive train is miled out, beat to hell and unmaintained. Most people also way overvalue their used bike... A penny over 50% of retail on a sora/tiagra bike is too much and I'd opt for the piece of mind and warranty from a retailer.

if you can wrangle a $1000 you can pickup a 2010 specialized allez with tiagra from Dornellas. They will negotiate on price and they have a discount for RTCC riders. The other option in that price range is the Trek 1.2 with sora components for about $900 and the Trek 1.5 with tiagra for about $1000. If you're buying from the trek store, they wont budge much on their prices and are more likely to offer you discounts on accessories with a bike purchase.

Thanks for your advise! my budget is tight. The old bike I get is too expensive to repair it. Well, if i can find it, I may have to use the mountain bike to ride.

Give me an email at j31_murp@hotmail.com, I may have a lead on an older road bike for you - for free, but not sure of the condition, so you'd have to see it to know.  I'm in the Main/Danforth area of Toronto.

Try the CCM "Presto" at Canadian Tire .... on sale for $250. I'm sure it would be more than adequate....I remember seeing some reviews on a bike site that were quite positive....for the money I'm sure you won't find a much better ride.
