Looking for training partner(s) or team

I am looking for any person or team who wouldnt mind training together now that spring is here. I am doing the 200 mile ride but wouldn't mind training if you are doing the 200km at a reasonable pace.

I am also interested in joining a team doing the 200m (it will make the ride a lot easier drafting!)

My name is Anthony Saracino and am 23. Live downtown Toronto but can commute to anywhere relatively close by, afterall we are riding a long way!

If your interested please e-mail me at anthony.saracino@hotmail.com

You're welcome to ride with me and my group of riders - we're in south Etobicoke. Sometimes we ride into the city and out to the end of the Leslie Street Spit, other times we head west. Either way we usually start close to Islington and Lakeshore.

Chris

Anthony:

You do not need a team to draft. From my experience last year most of the people on the 200 mile course are experienced cyclists and will be happy to have another body join their paceline as long as you can keep up.

When you are on the road you will settle into a pace and there will be people around you at that pace that you will natularly form a pace line. Last year on the Saturday I road with about 5 guys in the morning and then as I left lunch earlier than they did I hooked up with the Baure team in the afternoon for a while unitl I had to drop off as I could not keep the pace. I then found three others that who had a pace I could keep.

So candidly, other than a recruitment and fundraising tool, I am not sure of the point of a "team" unless it is a bunch of people you know and ride with regularly and you want a team for social reasons.

There's really no point to having a team during the ride. It's not a race, it's a charity ride.

And drafting is dangerous if you, or the folks you try to draft, don't know how to do it properly and safely.

RPM,

Will you be organizing these rides till the weekend of the ride?

I'll be going away this weekend and unable to make it out, but I would love to train with some of the riders before the weekend of the ride.

I'll be doing the 200M

Would it possible to get a  map of the route from you?

Thank you
