Hi I'm doing the ride this year. It marks the one year anniversary of my stem cell transplant at PMH last June to treat Multiple Myeloma (a rare, incurable, blood cancer). I was an intermediate rider before, could do 100km's no prob, but after my transplant I've had to start at the beginning again training wise. I still have a long way to go! Been hitting the gym regularly for a few months and have much more energy, and about to put my bike on the road.
My fiance and I are doing the ride, but he is crew so I don't think we can ride together. So, I'm looking to connect with others to ride with, either a team who I may fit on, or individuals.
Go team stem cell!
I'm in the Bloor West Village area of Toronto. (high park)
None of us have had stem cell transplants but would love to have you join us ! We now have 2 seventy year olds, (73,75), a 65 year old and a 51 year old female.
May be a good fit. Two of us are at Bloor and Yonge.
You're welcome to ride with us - by joining our team, during the ride, or just for training. I'm at Islington/Evans and we ride up through Bloor West/High Park regularly.
Hi Dgoldman thanks for the offer, but I'm not sure if you want a youngin on the team? I'm 33, but have a cancer the generally strikes older people. So I'm used to being the young person, at my Myelom Clinic I'm usually the youngest in the waiting room! Let me know!
Hi Twinpro what is your team called? what is your team profile?
I'm about to put my bike on the road when I get back from our last minute ski weekend to Quebec this weekend. Love that, spring is finally here.
