You may all know this already but just a reminder, if you have a personalized url (i.e. www.conquercancer.ca/goto/phillhodgkinson) setup for the 2010 ride and you're now doing the 2011 ride you need to login to the 2010 site and REMOVE it and then login to the 2011 site to RECREATE it.
If someone were to go to that url now and donate the funds would be put towards your 2010 ride and not your 2011 ride. If you met the minimum amount then you definitely want to change it so that you can start fund raising for 2011. If you're still trying to finish off for 2010 just change it once you get there. In the past I've been told that if someone accidentally donates to the wrong year it can't be transfered to the current year.
I had a lot of friends who said they'd donate and never did, I'm going after them. 2011 fundraising starts now!
See you on the road in 2011, and maybe somewhere in between.
When you log into the the 2010 site, on the home page of your "participation center" there's a box to the right (titled "Tentmate Selection") under the "Update Goal" button there's a line of text "Update personals URLs" that unfortunately doesn't look like a link at all but it's actually clickable. Click it, then clear the text in the text box on the next page and save the change.
On the 2011 site it's in a different place. When you log into the 2011 site you'r home page is your participation center again but it looks different. Just under the header graphic click on "Personal Page". Right under the blue "Content" bar you can click "edit" to change your personal URL.
LOL Yes, I put that fancy umbrella hat on during day 2 - it was fabulous!!
You can also log onto your participation centre and make your campaign private. (Log in; In the box at the left hand side - At the bottom of it, click on "Make Campagin Private")
Brian? I sleep on a mat on the floor (no bed) and getting up off that was probably HILARIOUS to see, but it took me forever the next day. Somehow while the pain level is better today, the stiffness is worse. Why is my right index finger swollen and aching? I know I have rheumatoid arthritis, but just that finger and thumb? Odd.
I'm changing bike shops. Took bike in. The techs along route said it needed whole thing repacked with bearing as I'd lost some. I took it to Pieriks and they said it was a derailleur and fixed. It's not and this always happens. You can buy a bike there, but you can't get decent service. Then I'm leaving, exchanging a shirt I didn't wear because it was all wrong, and I'm not ten feet away and the woman's husband demands to know if she cut me a deal again because I'd better be charged full.....I walked out and I swear to God I'm done there.
BUT, developed ride photos, can't believe I didn't take one of Niagara Falls, and took the laminated pic of my brother I had all ride up to the nursing home our mom is in (she's 65) and a pic of me riding and stuff. She not only didn't say something snarky, she told me I was nuts doing it but she was proud of me. :)
