If anyone has heard anything different or knows of forecats for Niagara Falls, please feel free add to the blog.

I'm constantly checking the Weather Network these days and they're calling for thunder storms all weekend.
Are we still going to be able to ride if there's thunder and lightning at our backs? Or will organizers pull us off the road as soon as they see a flash?
I expect that is a question for the Ride to decide but since safety is their major concern, it would not surprise me if they pull us off the road if it starts to thunder & lightning. I'm sure they are all watching the weather too. I would expect they'll probably make some kind of annoucement at the Opening Ceremonies. Until then, pray to God & Mother Nature & as an added measure, cross anything you can - fingers, toes, eyes, etc
We rode the first year in rain and thunder. Some people pulled off to the side until it stop but there were long stretches of road without seeing a Ride Organizer - not sure how they would pull everyone off the road.
As of now, Thursday morning, they're still calling for 60% Thunders showers on Saturday and 70% on Sunday for both Toronto and Niagara Falls. I think it's for the whole Southern Ontario.
You can monitor the Weather Network in Niagara Falls thru this link. Scroll down the page to see the long range forecast.
Things can still change on the last minute everyone so don't lose hope.
ok all you seasoned riders... what is the best gear to wear/use in the event it r$ins. (i refuse to use the R-word). Do you carry a rain suit in a pack? All tips are welcomed! :)
I have a lightweight rain jacket that squeezes into a large seatbag (it would also squeeze into a jersey pocket). If you have room, it's nice to take dry gloves so you can change gloves when the r$@n stops. If it's both cold and and wet (and windy) plastic bags between socks and shoes will keep your feet a little warmer. I don't bother with rainpants -- you get too hot. And if the roads are wet ride slow and take more care. It will take longer to brake, so allow more time. Fenders will keep you far drier too, but I refuse to put fenders on my bike. It wouldn't look right.
