I took mine in a week ago, knowing the R2CC hoardes would soon descend. As I'm in the ride and they know it, i picked it up next day. Seat adjusted, new tubes..FREe...warranty and nice people.

You can check craigslist and kijiji there are lots of mobile mechanics who charge anywhere from $30 - $60 per tuneup.
I'm not a bike mechanic, but if you're just looking for a tuneup/adjustment. I'm in Markham (Denison McCowan area) and can help Wednesday or Thursday night. I do all the maintenance on my road bikes.
kmclachlan if it makes you feel any better all of the endurance sport literature says in fact you should not ride very much if at all in the week before your event. Assuming you have trained enough, the body benefits more from rest and rebuilding than it does from training. This is called tappering.
