Bike tuneup... too late?

So I had NO idea bike tuneups got backlogged but I just called my shop (Cyclemotive) and they said its about 1 week turnaround...

I totally thought I'd be able to bring it in today.. do on the spot, MAYBE have to pick it up tomorrow. Guess I was wrong!

Am I SOL or ... what?

No, look online, a lot of the stuff they do to your bike can be done at home.

Well I just brought it in and will get it back friday. Sort of last minute but I'll have to deal.

Really would have liked to get out this week but wasn't planning on any LONG rides anyways... so I guess I'll just hit the gym!

I took mine in a week ago, knowing the R2CC hoardes would soon descend. As I'm in the ride and they know it, i picked it up next day. Seat adjusted, new tubes..FREe...warranty and nice people.

You can check craigslist and kijiji there are lots of mobile mechanics who charge anywhere from $30 - $60 per tuneup.

I'm not a bike mechanic, but if you're just looking for a tuneup/adjustment. I'm in Markham (Denison McCowan area) and can help Wednesday or Thursday night.  I do all the maintenance on my road bikes.

send me an email @ rob.sinfield@nucap.com

kmclachlan if it makes you feel any better all of the endurance sport literature says in fact you should not ride very much if at all in the week before your event.  Assuming you have trained enough, the body benefits more from rest and rebuilding than it does from training.  This is called tappering.
