Just thought I'd share this idea with everyone. I'm throwing a "speakeasy" party for some friends and family as a fund-raiser.
-I've mailed out invitations with clues on where to find the "password" to get in.
- Everyone brings $40 at the door and we're providing a signature drink and appetizers for the evening. You could charge more and add a poker/euchre buy-in as well.
- The party is being held at our house so I'm converting our basement into a jazz lounge of sorts.
- and the best part - everyone needs to dress up - Gangsters, flappers, Moll's.....you don't dress up , you don't get in. I have received alot of excellent feedback on the idea and everyone is really looking forward to it. Other than the food and Manhattan's, and a few extra votive candles for atmosphere, its not alot out of our pocket! :)
