I'll be brief. If you are interested in Sponsoring me to help me raise my required $2,500.00 to participate for the third straight year in THE RIDE TO CONQUER CANCER, you can access my donation - personal page at www.conquercancer.ca then it will ask do you wish to sponsor a rider and you enter my name GARY RUBIE it can all be done online.
Or if you wanna have a little fun, I have secured The McGibbon Hotel, 79 Main St.S. (@ Mill St.) Georgetown Saturday, April 10th, 2010 from 2-5 pm. Tickets are $20.00 for which you will receive a buffet dinner-lunch, be entertained by a long time local band The Drug Store Cowboyz and confirmed today, Ryan Parker from the Q107 - Derringer Morning Show "will be in the house" to introduce popular 70's band The Kings (Switchin' to Glide, nothing matters but the weekend .......from a Tuesday point of view..........) Come on you remember......
There will also be a huge prize table and most of you that know me, know I get wicked swag......the gifts will be abundant and very cool........we also have a "Pink Acoustic Guitar" that was donated by Pine Cone Studious (Pink for Breast Cancer) which will be signed by entire band "The Kings" and will be one of the grand prizes unless Q107 come up with something "heavy".......
I also had a "Cycling Shirt" donated. I bought silver sharpies and for $5.00 you can add a name of a friend or a loved one that has battled or died of cancer. Sadly I'm in for $30.00. (Oma Rubie, Aunt Mary Roebuck, Ian Calder, Catherine Heaney, Tim Wysocki, Walter Radowicki, Shannon Stanley) The opening day we (4,000 riders) leave Exhibition Stadium and all wear yellow jersey to match the coined phrase "Strength in Numbers" also the same colour of jersey worn by the leaders of each stage of the Tour de France. On Sunday however I will the donated Jersey and I will carry all of OUR FAMILY FRIENDS AND LOVED ONE ACROSS THE FINISH LINE............
Thank you for your continued support, Gary
