It's getting close to getting back outside and I would like to find some new routes around Ajax. 40 to 50 KMs with minimal traffic. I ride a lot up Lakeridge but it is almost as bad as getting on the 401! I live down by the lake so if anyone could suggest a some good routes I would appreciate it. I am also look for someone to ride with weekday mornings. Let me know!
Hey there! I am from Whitby and last year I rode the waterfront trail. Not sure of the route of it between Whitby and Ajax, but I know I really enjoyed the route east of Whitby. Some decent hills (nothing too horrendous) and great scenery being by the lake. If you search Ontario Bike Trails (I think) on google you can find some decent maps.
Sorry I can't help out with weekday morning rides though. I am a weekend warrior for outdoor riding and for the workweek I stick to spinning classes.
Hi. I am in Hamilton, but popped in. Last May/june while my brother was in the PMH getting bone marrow i was watching his house in Whitby. Rode the trail along the waterfront from there to Oshawa. Not far on the map, but my God with the winding roads and wind, it was a work out. Very nice to look at the scenery as well. lighthouses, marsh. I wanted to ride to Ajax and my brother called me from PMH, "Are you ______ing crazy? You'll get killed. The trail isn't done from what I heard and pretty harsh." Hopefully it's nice now. I always wished I'd tried it just once.
