Nutrition Question - Gluten and Milk

Does anyone who's done the ride before (or who has similar experience) have suggestions about how to handle a gluten and milk-free diet during the ride?  This is new to me.

Thanks in advance!

I have done the ride the past two years, as well as 4 years with the Weekend to End Breast Cancer. I have some restrictions as well and know from experience to carry a few items with me that I know that I can eat. Most stops with have fruit and veggies that you can grab - you might just have to stick with the pre-packaged and un-cut items as there are usually bagels being cut at each station and the cross contamination can not be avoided.

Also, for meals I know that they only have two options - vegetarian and regular. I have never had the vegetarian meals so I am not sure what they are. For the regular lunches it has been a grain salad on Saturday and a luncheon meat sandwich on Sunday. Things change year to year but in my 6 events is has been pretty standard. Dinner has been salad, pastas, chicken and veggies. Again, cross contamination will be difficult to avoid.

Again, I carry a few items that I know I can eat and then supplement with the fruit/veggies. I have also been lucky to have a family member meet us at the lunch stop with food too!

Agree with SSM... pack some essential items that you might need (GF bars) but for the most part, there are plenty of items you can pick apart to eat (chicken in sandwiches between lettuce, etc.) If you are lucky enough to have family members who might be supporting you along the route, it's great to have them ready with some items in case you can do a quick meet-up too!
