Last Minute Fundraising

Hi Fellow Riders,

Just wondering if anyone had a good last minute fundraising idea.  I am very short of the $2500 goal, about $1500 due to a sponsor backing out last minute, and need to make it up.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Linds

Perhaps approach a business and offer to put their logo on your jersey?

You could throw a last minute BBQ?
Steam whistle will donate beer (2 4 1 type of a deal) and maybe you can find someone too donate burgers and dogs?

People tend to be pretty generous at these things....
Maybe youc an do it together with a garage sale (if you live in a house)
I know it's last minute, but I think it could be done...

Worse comes too worse, they do give you a couple of months grace period...

Good luck!

I would contact the LCBO and set up something with them for a `tag day`. Never got to do it myself, but I heard some girls raising up 3000 in a day for their soccer team standing in front of the beer store. Spend the whole weekend there, maybe set up a table, do a 50/50 draw or have some gimmick (give out a popsicle or something for each donation). See if you can have your gimmick donated to you by a business.

Do one final reach out to family and friends, and anyone on your email list and let them know your situation. Even try facebook if you`re on there. I was getting worried, so I sent out a facebook message to people on my group and it generated another 300 bucks. It aint over until my wife sings!! Don`t give up. What is your name/ Maybe some fellow riders can help pimp ya out and get ya some donations?

Thanks for all the advice! I'm working on some ideas as I type this!

My name is Lindsay Sheppard.  If anyone knows of people still wanting to donate, or has extra donations I would be so happy if you could forward them to my webpage!

I wish this all wasn't so last minute.

Thanks again for all the advice and I welcome more ideas!

Lindsay

Hey Lindsay,

Last week, I was short 500 and wasn't sure I was going to make it. I know how it feels and would hate to be told that I'm not worthy of riding when I put so much effort into fundraising. Luckily some very awesome friends came through at their wedding and surprised me. Instead of doing party favors they felt the money would be best served donating to a charity, and handed over a check for 500, and bigged up my cause to all their guests. I share this story because I think it was very awesome that they helped me out like that, on a day that was set out for them!

In the end the money ends up in the same place, so since I've already reached the mark I'd be happy to help you out any way that I can, because I would rather see ya ride. Not sure how much, but I do have a 50/50 draw on the go which I would be more than happy throwing your way. Should be around 50 bucks, and I can do this for you Monday.

Good luck, and I hope to see you out there!!
