I have purchased a plastic stand that takes standard 8 1/2 x 11 paper and a business card (available at office supply stores). I printed a page with the Ride to Conquer Cancer logo, and a headline about my participation, and I have printed off the business card size cards with my name and participant number to place in the card slot. People can take the small cards that guids clients and associates to the web site.
I am on several boards of directors, and have handed out pledge sheets with the minutes from previous meetings and when someone says "what's this?" it gives me the opportunity to make a pitch. Once one person commits the rest usually will follow suit.
I work in consulting, and I will offer to try to get work out faster if a pledge might be forthcoming.
