If I submit money to donate to my personal ride, does it show up in my team's ride page? and vice versa? also, will I not be permitted to ride if I met my team's minimum fundraising goal but not my own fundraising goal?
Any donations to you would show on the team page, your personal total would be shown beside your name listed at the bottom of the page. The total would go towards the team goal.
If someone makes a general donation to the team it does not go towards anyones individual goals so you want to make sure that when someone goes to your team page that they actually pick a person to donate to.
If the team goal is met but you yourself do not get to $2500.00 then you cannot do the ride, which is why I said the above; to make sure "team" donations get put to individuals on the team so that you can work together to make sure everyone meets their individual goal which would eventually help you get to your team goal.
I hope I am making sense, last year was my first year and we had to learn the hard way about "team" donations not going towards individual team members totals.
Wizzo has it right. I would only add that if the team does fundraising events that get cash donations it is a good idea to hold the money and distribute it closer to the ride. This way people who were unable to raise the minimum can be helped out. It would be wise to have a distribution agreement worked out in advance among the team members to avoid conflict.
Thanks SilverFox i forgot to mention that. We held onto our group cash donations until the middle of May last year and split it according to who needed it.
