Last minute crisis

Crap cry. After recommending people get their bikes to the shop last week, I'm now facing an urgent repair.  Popped a spoke on my Mavic Aksium rear wheel this evening.  I get to spend tomorrow finding a shop in London that can do the job before Friday afternoon.

With about 10,000 km on the wheel is it worth fixing, or should I consider getting a new wheel or wheelset?

Some shops may rent a wheel for the weekend. See about that as a stopgap measure. I know my LBS rents them (with PowerTaps!

I'm in the same boat. Went for a final ride tonight, and the housing for my front shift cable blew out the ferrule where it meets the brake/shifter. Took me a little while to figure out why it suddenly shifted from the big ring to small, and I couldn't shift back. I'll be hunting down a cable kit tomorrow. Fortunately, I can do the repair myself pretty easily.
