i think everyone's spirit will be soaring that day, so maybe that alone will bring some sun our way! i rode in the drizzle/then rain this morning and it was actually pretty awesome. i'll take whatever! just excited about doing the ride.

Always take the 14 day forecast with a grain of salt. But with the way things have been this year, 2 days of dry weather are hard to come by.

That's ok.  After this spring I am not sure I would know what to wear or how to ride without rain.

It was nice this morning with the fog and rain.  Until my brakes decided not the work, and I went through a red light!  I'm starting to think that the fates have it out for me!

With only 2 weeks to go, thats a good reminder for all of us to get our bikes tuned up. If you can't do it yourself, be warned that many shops take a few days to get the work done.

Managed 120 k yesterday in drizzle, mist, fog, rain, cloud, sun, wind... you name it.

It looks like I may be able to squeeze in a couple hours today as well.

Agreed with Silver: bring your bike in for a tuning during the week.

As of today it is saying it is going to be sunny and 23 on both days of the ride.  But as SilverFox says it is still way too early to tell.  I have found most forcasts these days are wrong even the day of:  it doesn't rain when they say it will and it rains when they say it won't.

I would have lost half a dozen good riding days if I had not riden to work because of the forcast.

The weather was a little muggy today and tomorrow's supposed to be worse!  Oh well, at least I learned how to replace my brake pads today!  Just to let you know, my bike and I have an interesting relationship going:  I love it, and it hates me!

Still too early to tell, but it looks like we might get wet at least on Sunday. So for those of you who have put off buying a rain jacket and arm warmers I would certainly make time in your schedule to do so if needed.

Current long term forecast calls for 30km/hr wind from the east. There's no way we could be so lucky!

Patrick... about 3 hrs after you called us lucky, the forecast changed to include 10 mm of rain.

We still have the tailwind, but it's going to be blowing water up our tails!

Actually, two... you might be ok.

I reviewed the long term on Weather Network and they've indicated that (as of right now) the rain isn't scheduled to hit until Saturday mid-afternoon.... which means the 100k riders SHOULD be able to clear the course before the weather hits. I'm estimating about 7-8 hrs ride time for me on the mile course, which means I'll be getting a free shower.

If the rain continues into Sunday morning as forecast, it might not be the most pleasant start for Day 2.... but we managed it last year so we can manage it again this year.

Depending on how my sugars do (they've been going insane this week with the heat), I should be looking at about 4 pm to finish the 100 km.  I might get hit, I might not.  Oh well, just like fate, you can't fight the weather, just keep pedalling.
