For the first time in THREE YEARS I am not positive that I will be able to make the minimum in time for Ride Day!!!
I started everything late because of a car accident that I was sure would keep me from doing the ride this year... but the truth is that as much pain as I may be in, this i how I honour my father, I need to be able to say for each year since he passed I have honoured him by riding... so back pain and all I am trying to get through this...
Does anyone have any last minute fundraising ideas? Anything would be greatly appreciated!
Best of luck to all of you who are riding!

You suckkaaaaaaa! ;)
I don't think so... I doubt the pan handlers received authorization and it's a cause that affects everyone. :)
They also have the delayed self pledge that will give you an additional 60 days to raise the funds and will let you particpate in the ride. That's probably your best option at this point.
I know that next year, I'm going to be out in ride gear with my brother's photo wherever I can. This is my first year and I had to spend 11 months to raise the money needed. I was terrified I wouldn't make it and I'm doing it not just because I beat cancer twice, but I promised my brother literally on his deathbed that I would do it. I was so relieved when a last donation threw me over the minimum. Weekend, outside of grocery stores, LCBO, bike shops, etc. In the ride gear. There is something about our jersey's that brings out the better attitude with people about donations.
I didn't know about the 60 day deferred donations. I was sure if I didn't have it by ride day I was out.

There is one that is usually quite effective for office places.
Get a sort of big ticket item, maybe a pro team jersey that you can get donated... and get a deck of cards and put "winner" on one of the cards on the face of it (anyone of them) and put all 52 on a large piece of bristol board and sell all the cards to co-workers and they put their name on the ones they buy. you can sell them for $10 a card 10 x 52 = $520 or you can up it for $15 for 2 cards 15 x 26 = $390 Or depending on the type of people or area, you can really up the anty with $20 a card, 20 x 52 = $1040!
I'll think of some more!

I hope I see you out on the road this weekend.

Great suggestions! If you can do the 60 day thing - we were pretty successful with a Garage Sale. Most of the stuff was donated by neighbours/friends!!
Ela, I have a $200 donation to the RTCC that I have not mailed in yet. I don't need it to qualify so you are welcome to it. If you like, I will print out a donation form and send it in on your behalf. It won't make it in time but will still reduce your obligation.
