Anyone interested in riding to St. Catherines from Toronto and back in 2 days as a practice run?

i worry that i may not make the 100 miles run since i have never done any real century ride in my life, not to mention 2 runs in 2 days.

i am thinking of doing a practice run from Toronto to St. Catharines along the waterfront trail and back in 2 days around early or mid May to test myself out and do a warm up as an assessment of whether my body can handle the ride or not.    The distance is about 120K each way.

I wonder if there is anyone who is interested in this.  I am 54 years old.  Male.  I ride slowly, my regular training speed is around 18-19 kph along the Lakeshore.  I plan to stop once every 25 k for 10-15 minutes.  i intend to stay in a hotel in St. Catharines upon arrival in the city.   i am not looking for someone to share hotel accommodation, but a riding partner.   The journey will be a long and lonely one if i am all by myself.

If you are interested in riding with me at my slow pace, would you please contact me via the reply or email me at aintnomachoman@hotmail.com

Hi!

I'll ride with you!  I think it would be an awesome tune-up.

I am 29 and very active. I try to ride at an average of 30 km/hr but I can go at whatever speed that is necessary since I prodominately ride alone as well.
Right now I am living outside the gta but am trying to move into toronto and find work, when I do make it into the city, I like to make it down to the leslie street spit. Awesome views from the lighthouse!

What type of bike are you going to use for the ride. I have 2 bikes and the one I am using is an '07 Trek Madone 5.5.

Let me know what you think!

Chio!

I just managed to hit 80k at 19.7kph today (good Friday).  At the rate of 10k more per week in my training, i believe i can do this run to St. Catharines and back by mid May as a warm up to the Ride.  I also practice on the Leslie Spit.  I ride a HP Velotechnik Streetmachine recumbent bike.

luksys, if you don't  mind, write to me at my aintnomachoman@hotmail.com.  There is also another ride who would like to join me.

cheers
