Looking for people to train with near Oshawa

Hi. It's my first year in the ride and I'm new to cycling as a whole. Now that the weather is better I would like to get my bike off of the indoor trainer and on the road. I would really appreciate some people to train with and keep me motivated.
Thanks and take care.

Check out on Facebook "Durham Shore Cyclists" I'm part of that group.

Just posted this in another thread. Try this club, will save you having to start down the Facebook path (if you've avoided it this long you probably don't want to start haha!)

I'd recommend checking out the Oshawa Cycling Club http://oshawacyclingclub.org/ I'm not a member but rode their Ride4UnitedWay Century ride at the end of last summer, it was a great event and ride to say the least! Think there were about 500 riders for the event. Even if you don't hook up with them for training I recommend signing up for that ride. It's a great one day event, maybe a bit challenging terrain as there are a lot more rolling hills.

Hope that helps!
Cheers,
Phill

If you are interested in riding in the Port Perry or Uxbridge area I will ride with you. Great area for training.

I can always drive up there. I do a Saturday morning ride with a group in Ajax, but can do Sunday mornings or weeknights if those times work with your schedule.

Take care.

Phil

Hi Phil,

The Oshawa Cycling Club rides are great but the rookie rides don't start until May. I usually do the rookie rides. The pace is more manageable. I ride out of Courtice if you want to ride sometime. Did we meet last week at an orientation in Ajax?

Yep. That was me at the orientation. I'm out of town on business right now, but maybe we can get a ride together sometime next week.

My pace might be a bit slow for you. I usually seem to ride somewhere between 20-24 km/h...sometimes a bit slower if my legs are done.

Thanks and take care.

Ha, don't worry Phil. I'm no advanced rider by any stretch. Email me at greg@gdevitt.com and we can get together.

cheers,
greg.
