What if i can't finish the 100km's?

Hi,

I have a question, what if during the ride i get injured or just tired and can't finish the 100km's for that day, will they pick me up and drive me to hamilton? also, if they pick me up, can they then drop me off if i feel like i'm ready to give it another try?

thanks

No worries...

There are sweep vehicles with bike carriers driving along the route.  They will drop you at the next pit stop to rest a while and if you can continue, then you do so.  There is also a big bus at some of the pitstops or lunch that will transport you to Hamilton if you can't continue.

There is medical help at each pit stop.  Also, there are medical sweep vehicles.  I helped at both last year (a medical tent & a medical sweeper) and it was great... most things were minor, but it was great to help the riders who really needed help.

The main thing I can say to everyone is PLEASE don't be too stubborn to take a sweep if you need it.  That's what they're there for.  Just stand along the side of the road with your thumb down... someone will come for you & your bike.  And it's not a race... you'll probably make the the 100 kms or so each day if you just take it at your pace :)

You don't have to finish the 100K if you can't or if you get injured along the way.  There will be vehicles and motor bikers that ride along with the cyclists to guide you and see if everyone's doing alright.  If you feel you can only do so much distance and can't continue, you and your bike will be picked up and brought to the Hamilton camp.  You can always continue the next day to Niagara Falls.  Good luck!

And a chance to make a difference

And made it this far"

BUT YOU WILL FINISH ALL 200K"The irony of commitment is that it's deeply liberating - in work, in play, in love. The act frees you from the tyranny of your internal critic, from the fear that likes to dress up and parade around as rational hesitation. To commit is to remove your head as the barrier to your life."

From past experience, anyone who isn't able to finish the ride is lined up in front of a firing squad and executed.smile

Riders who can't finish the 100 km are considered volunteers for medical experimentation.

They get into the "sweep" vehicles and are taken direct to a secret medical lab run by people with Coke-bottlebottom thick glasses and white coats.

So toughen up and finish, my friend.
